Obituary of Reuben W. Ohm
Reuben Wilhelm Ohm, age 99, of Eden Prairie, MN, (formerly a Wisconsin Rapids resident for 50 years) was reunited with his beloved wife Frances on March 2, 2016.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Arpin Cemetery. Rev. Martin Baur will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at the church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Reuben was born to Henry and Hedwig (Bessert) Ohm on July 31, 1916 in Sleepy Eye, MN. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He married Frances O. (Elmer) Ohm on August 16, 1945. They initially farmed in the Marshfield area, and eventually settled in Wisconsin Rapids where he worked for Consolidated Papers, Inc. from 1956 until his retirement in 1981. Reuben was also self-employed as an electrician where he was recognized for his meticulous work. Reuben immensely enjoyed his 50 annual fishing trips to northwest Ontario with his family.
Reuben is survived by his sons: Jerry (Peggy) of Eden Prairie, MN, Randy (Joyce Dicks) of Burnsville, MN and grandsons: Brian of Guerneville, CA, Dylan of Minneapolis, MN and brother Rodney of Marshfield, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Orville, sister Gladys, sisters-in-law Clara and Edna.
