Obituary of Jason Allen Metz
Jason Allen Metz, age 43, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Calvary Chapel in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Richard Pickens will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the time of service at Calvary Chapel. Burial will be at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jason was born on October 3, 1972 to Duane and Mary (Haskins) Berg in Madison, WI. He married Tracy McClelland on May 7, 1994 in Wisconsin Rapids. Jason was a Lincoln High School class of 1991 graduate. He was employed by Wisconsin Rapids Labor Union for several years.
Jason was a jokester and was known on occasion to act like Tarzan in the grocery store. He enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a very outgoing and nice guy who wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a great father and enjoyed playing football in the back yard with his boys. Jason had a memory like a steel trap and could recite many of the scriptures and teachings of the Bible. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jason is survived by his wife Tracy, sons: Jacob, Joshua and Josiah; siblings: Scott Metz, Tammy Metz, Martin Berg, David Haskins; brother-in-law David Smazal as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary and sister Connie Smazal.
