Obituary of Robert Ernest Rasmussen

Robert Ernest Rasmussen, age 83, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Robert was born on April 4, 1932 to Ernest and Christine (Hanke) Rasmussen in Wisconsin Rapids. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Robert was united in marriage to Janice Becker on August 21, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa; she passed away on February 19, 1992. He was the owner and operator of Northern Tree Service in Wisconsin Rapids for many years. Robert was a kind and caring husband and father who worked hard to support his family. He never missed a chance to spend time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed going to all of their sporting events and various school programs. He liked to go fishing, golfing and taking trips to the casino to play Keno. Robert is survived by his sons: Steven Rasmussen of Omaha, NE and Craig (Lisa) Rasmussen of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: David, Megan and Samuel Rasmussen; brothers: James (Betty) Rasmussen, William Rasmussen both of Wisconsin Rapids, Larry (Jan) Rasmussen of Oregon. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and his wife Janice.
