Obituary of Thomas F. Billmeyer
Thomas F. "Tom" Billmeyer, age 89 of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on October 4, 2016 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home.
Tom was born on August 8, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids to Edward and Ruth (Lindeman) Billmeyer. He married Ellen M Wagner on January 10, 1948. Tom served in the U.S. Navy with the Fleet Post Office on Guam Isalnd during World War II. He was a project engineer and held three fireplace patents at Preway Inc.; he retired in 1987.
After retirement he spent the winter months at their home in Mission, TX. Many vacations while still working and after were spent traveling the U.S. with the Wally Byam Airstream Club. He was a Square Dance caller for the Wheel and Deal Club of Rosholt, WI and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the Wisconsin Badger games.
Tom is survived by his wife: Ellen; one son: James T. (Sharon) Billmeyer of Verona, WI; two daughters: Barbara E. Barber of Neillsville, WI, Jean Ann (Andy) Knuesel of Wisc. Rapids; four grandchildren: Jess Billmeyer and Nathan Billmeyer of Verona, WI, Lindsay Rogers of Ramsey, MN, Austin Knuesel of Wisc. Rapids; three great-grandchildren: Emma, Ginny and Walter Billmeyer of Verona, WI; two brothers: John Billmeyer and Robert Billmeyer; one half-brother: Pat Canning
Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Ruth; two brothers: James Billmeyer and Kenneth Billmeyer; and step-father: Seth Canning.
