Obituary of Dwight E. Stuve
Dwight Edward Stuve, age 92, of Nekoosa, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at The Retirement Community of Nekoosa after a courageous battle with lymphoma and leukemia.
Dwight was born on March 19, 1924 in Humbird, WI to Howell and Mabel (Stallard) Stuve one of ten children. Dwight grew up in Humbird and later relocated with his family to Owen, WI. Dwight served his country in the United States Navy; afterwards, he relocated to Wisconsin Rapids where he worked on various cranberry marshes. He was united in marriage to Grayce Elizabeth Mayer on December 17, 1944 in Owen, WI there were three children born to this union, a premature stillborn daughter on November 18, 1945 followed by Terry and Wendy. Grayce passed away in 1958. Dwight married Norma Louise Clawson on June 13, 1959 in Rice Lake, WI. He worked as foreman and lived on the Whittlesey Cranberry Marsh and later for Cranmoor Cranberry Company. After retirement Dwight and Norma lived in Wisconsin Rapids until 2015 when they relocated to the Retirement Community in Nekoosa. Dwight enjoyed volunteering at Hephzibah Children's Home. He was a member of the work team for Wesleyan Missions in Zambia.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife and best friend Norma of Nekoosa, WI, two children: Terry (Sheri Hyland) Stuve of Cadott, WI, and Wendy (Theodore) Chao of Richfield, MN; three grandsons: Ryan and Reed Stuve of Cadott, Reese (Heather Guertin) Stuve of Onalaska, WI; four great-grandchildren: London, Preston, Hudson and Graycen Stuve of Onalaska, WI; four sisters: Virginia (Jesse) Bonney of WA, Janet (Robert) Anderson and Mary (Carl) Harms both Sturgis, SD and Gwendolyn Pearson of Oshkosh, WI and dozens of nieces and nephews here and far.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Grayce, daughter, and five siblings: Phyllis Green, Dorothy Kostlevy, Franklin, Ralph Gordon and Paul Stuve.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Baker Street Community Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Milton Van Natta will officiate. Burial will be held at Forest-Burr Cemetery in Hillsboro, WI at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
