Obituary of Keiko Ehlert

Keiko Ehlert, age 72, of Vesper, WI, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. A Celebration of Keiko’s life will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net. Keiko was born November 3, 1947 in Kobe, Japan to Teruhisa and Hisayo (Maeda) Shinomiya. Keiko met the man of her dreams at the Osaka World’s Fair. She married Rich Ehlert on March 1, 1971 in Tokyo, Japan. They were blessed with 49 years of wonderful memories. She was very gifted at making crafts. She and Rich would go to various craft shows to sell their creations. Keiko was naturally gifted and taught herself to play the piano. She went on to teach her daughter to also play. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for over 30 years in customer service. Keiko was known for her cooking and enjoyed hosting holidays at her home. Keiko had an easy-going personality, and made friends easily. Keiko is survived by her loving husband, Rich; her children: Howard Ehlert, Carmen Pfeiffer, and Clifford Ehlert; and her grandchildren: Ariana, Dunkan, and Analise. She is preceded in death by her father. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
