Obituary of Dean F. Irwin

Dean “Beaver” F. Irwin, age 83, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully at his residence in Appleton, on Monday, February 10, 2020. He was born on March 19, 1936, the 9th child of William "Fred" and Lucy (Corbin) Irwin, in Pittsville, Wisconsin. Dean was a lifelong lover of sports. His favorites included baseball, basketball, football, golf ... and in his later days, even wrestling He enjoyed being a youth coach for baseball and basketball, and was a rabid fan of the Packers and the Badgers. He was fond of the outdoors ... hunting, fishing, camping, and waterfalling. As well as just sitting out on his deck, listening to the wind in the trees, and watching the birds and animals, both domestic and wild. He enjoyed having his family around him. Dean was married to his wife Jean for 51 years, and worked for Consolidated Papers for 43 years, retiring in 1998. He is survived by his daughter Denise (Patrick) Linstedt, and son Lee Irwin. As well as his grandchildren ... Kayley, Jacob, and Daniel Irwin, and Soren and Thatcher Linstedt. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lucy, his wife Jean, and all of his siblings ... Mavis (Boldt), Neva, Quentin, Keith, Kenneth, Leo, Don, and Jeannie Irwin. A celebration of Dean's life will take place on Friday, July 10, 2020, with a time of visitation at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A graveside memorial service to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Beth Rohn-Habhegger will officiate, and the service will also be streamed on Zoom, if you are unable to attend. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to the Hope Lodge Marshfield, Wisconsin, which provides free lodging to cancer patients that need to travel for treatment.
