Obituary of John Kenneth Hospodar Jr.
John K. Hospodar Jr., age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Monday May 4, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
John was born on January 21, 1945 in Wilmer, Minnesota to John and Vivian (Johnson) Hospodar Sr. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country during the Vietnam War from 1966-1969.
He was employed as a salesman for UniFirst Corporation until his retirement.
John was an avid Cubs fan, and he hardly ever missed opening day. He developed a passion for cooking while working at his family’s restaurants in Cicero, Illinois and he enjoyed making old country dishes for his entire family. In his spare time, he liked to listen to the Golden Oldies. John was a vintage car enthusiast. He restored several vehicles including his favorite, a 1941 Buick. He was known for his sense of humor and making people laugh. He loved being around family, especially on his favorite holiday, the Fourth of July. He traveled the United States extensively on family vacations, making random stops at anything he or the family found interesting.
John is survived by his children: Traci Gass, and Jill Jackson both of Wisconsin Rapids, and son Jonny Hospodar of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Nelson, Chase, Mackenzie, Brooklyn, Gavin, and Addison; sister: Joni Stienert of Wisconsin Rapids and brother Robert Hospodar of Litch Fieldpark, AZ.
