Obituary of Ken Wiemann
Kenneth W. Wiemann, age 71, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, with his loving wife by his side.
A Life Celebration for Kenneth will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor David Mickelson will officiate. Burial will take place at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the funeral home. Due to the current circumstances that we find our world in at this time, the visitation will be under a controlled environment. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Kenneth’s family. Kenneth was born September 19, 1948 in Wausau, WI to Delmar Gabe and Adeline Helen (Kankelfitz) Wiemann. Kenneth graduated from Wausau East High School in June of 1968. Served in the United States Army from October 31, 1968 to June 4, 1970 in-country during the Vietnam War and served in the United States Reserve from June 5, 1970 until his Honorable Discharge on September 24, 1974. Kenneth married Colleen Faith Barnett on October 20, 1984. During their marriage the couple resided in Wausau, Deerbrook, and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Kenneth was always a diligent worker with a variety of jobs that including lawn care, cleaning buildings, warehouse work and factory work. Kenneth retired in 2014 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI where he continued to take care of his yard work, household chores and his beloved Miniature Pincher, Lady Bandit. He also helped take care his wife’s Chihauhau, Penny Faith. In his spare time Kenneth enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and reading all about animals that were of interest to him, such as frogs, insects, wolves, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and many others. He also enjoyed reading about varieties of trees and flowers and identifying them when working or relaxing outdoors.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his brother, John Wiemann of Marshfield; his sister, Ruth Wiemann of Wausau; and two Aunts, Bernice Hellrood of Schofield and Esther Smith of Hamburg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Sister-In-Law Janet Wiemann of Marshfield, WI; both sets of his Grandparents and many of his Aunts and Uncles.
