Obituary of Christopher Weber

Christopher Mark Weber, age 60, of Newport,Tennessee, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin died at his home in Tenneesee Saturday, July 20, 2019 due to cancer. Chris was born September 25, 1958 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Carl and Evelyn (Mueller) Weber. He worked various sales jobs over the years, then as a journeyman pipefitter for AFT before moving to Tennessee where his back porch became his favorite place to take in a mountain scene with a cup of coffee. He lived simply as a self-proclaimed “flea market extraordinaire” and “repurposer of purposeful things” as he believed everything should have another chance. Humans and things alike. Chris was a stubborn, yet humble person who valued his family above all, and truly apprecieated each day he had. He was a self taught mechanic who had a passion for vehicles. That passion was shared with all who would share it, especially his oldest son. He was a lover of cats and was never without a "four pawed human" by his side, an avid reader (science fiction being his favorite), enjoyed astronomy, and all things to do with learning more about the universe beyond earth. He enjoyed the musical sounds of Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Simon and Garfunkel, and many others. In the last 10 years he published blogs as the Catsman where his fantastic storytelling and love of writing came to life. Evidence of that also came out in his many random humorous Facebook remarks and stories to his kids and grandkids. Within any life event that came about he always saw a lesson to teach, taking the opportunity to do so in his own way while often relating life events to quotes from a book or song he held dear. He provided many words of wisdom of which anyone could learn from. In particular he found a time where he chose to follow a path to a better him and always shared his words to pass along to his family. "Happiness and contentment are not to be found out in the big troubled world. They can only be found by having the courage to take your spirit out for a stroll and have a long conversation with your soul as to who you are and who you want to be (Christopher Weber, 2017). " Chris is survived by his special friend Leslie Kauvourakis; children: Joshua (Alicia) Weber, Paula Weber (Jeremy Jazdzewski) and Karl Weber; grandchildren: Meghan Weber, Elijah Weber, Devynn Weber, Jaceiy Weber, Lydiah Weber, Dukeoda Droste, Jazmine Droste, Ryden Weber, and Oryon Weber; great-grandchild, Finnic Norton; and siblings: Carol Burrows, Thomas Weber, Theresa (Phil) Grode and Mary Slattery. He is preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew. Private family services will be held at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be assisting the Weber family.
