Obituary of Elaine Zuege

Elaine M. Zuege, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Atrium of Wisconsin Rapids.  She was surrounded by her loving family as she entered the Gates of Heaven.

Services for this special lady will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 10611 State Highway 13 in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Paul Tullberg will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Time for family and friends to share loving memories will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and again, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service, on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Elaine was born on June 16, 1926 to Edwin and Edith (Zager) Haas in Sigel, WI. She met the love of her life, Elton Zuege, at a dance at the Sherri-Land Ballroom. They were married on September 1, 1945 at St. John Lutheran Church in Sigel.  Elaine and Elton were blessed with 72 years of marriage. They wintered in Port Charlotte, FL for 31 years.  She enjoyed embroidery, making dishtowels that she sold at the Senior Craft Shoppe.  Elaine liked the challenge of a good word find puzzle.  Most of all she enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Elaine is loved and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Elton “Bud”; daughter, Darlene (John) Estlund; grandson, Scott (Katie) Estlund; great-granddaughters: Norah Estlund and Adeline Estlund; sister-in-law, Betty Tuxhorn; brother-in-law, Ronald Zuege; Goddaughter, Robin (Randy) Mrozinski; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Minnie (Brehm) Zuege; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Walter) Manz, Lucille (Claire) Jacobson, Joyce (Merlin) Marti, Lynette (Russell) Wilson, Florian Ashenberg, Delbert Tuxhorn, and Delton Zuege.
