Shirley was born June 26, 1943 in Rockford, IL to Raymond and Dorothy Vitell. She married Walter Kaszuba on July 1, 1961 and were blessed with 56 years of precious memories together. She would do anything for anyone, even if it meant she would have to do without. Shirley was very creative. Her talents could be witnessed in her crafts, including her many quilts which she gave as precious gifts to her family and friends. Shirley enjoyed watching the birds, and tolerated the pigeons, at her birdfeeder. She was a hard worker, with a spit-fire attitude. Shirley was a wonderful cook, especially known for her delicious potato salad. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Shirley is loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Kaszuba; children: David Kaszuba, Chuck (Sheila) Kaszuba, and Cindy Kaszuba; grandchildren: Aleshia Kaszuba, Alexis Kaszuba, Nakiya Smith, Davin Smith, and Hazel Smith; a brother, Ed (Gail) Vitell; and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Smith, and an infant son, Christopher Kaszuba.
The family would like to send their deepest appreciation to the staff of Heartland Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Shirley.
