Elaine was born on July 13, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Wilbur and Elsie (Loock) Berg. She graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and then Lincoln High School, as a member of the Class of 1951. Elaine then attended the Chicago School of Beauty and worked in various shops in Wisconsin Rapids. On May 2, 1959, she married Irvin Olson at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage. In her later years, Elaine was a hairdresser at Riverview Manor, which she absolutely loved.
She was very involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Elaine never missed an event that involved them. She recently became a great-grandma. They were all her pride and joy.
Elaine was involved in many social and voluntary clubs in her community and church. She was loved by all and made a friend wherever she was. Elaine always had a smile and a kind word to say.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Olson; daughters: Colleen (Bryan) O’Day and Karen (John) Pisula; sons: Charles Olson and Korey (Cheridy) Olson; grandchildren: Casey (Josh) Hendricks, Taylor (Tony) Portesi, and Kaylee Olson; and great-grandchild, Maxon Portesi.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Sara, Mary, Ashley, and Dr. Okon, on the Palliative floor at the Marshfield Medical Center. Your care and compassion will NEVER be forgotten.
