Obituary of Jean Ann Knuesel

Jean Ann Knuesel

Jean “Jeannie” Knuesel, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on March 29, 2018, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jeannie was born on Oct. 15, 1954, to Thomas and Ellen (Wagner) Billmeyer in Wisconsin Rapids, and was a graduate of Lincoln High School and also earned degrees from Mid-State Technical College.

Her career began as a technical secretary in the engineering department at Preway, Inc. Following that, she partnered in a small business and later opened Knuesel’s Stained Glass. As her interests grew, she became a certified pharmacy technician and was employed locally by Aurora and retired from the Marshfield Clinic Pharmacy in Marshfield.

Jeannie married Andrew Knuesel in 1979 and they are lifelong residents of the Wisconsin Rapids area.

She enjoyed arts and craft hobbies as varied as her imagination. Stained glass creations were only one of many past times. Many of her works can be seen in the area, most notable are the Snow White character windows in the Charles and Joann Lester Library in Nekoosa. She loved spending time with her faithful dog, Lily, and loved picking wild berries.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Andrew Knuesel; children, Lindsay (Chuck) Rogers of Ramsey, Minnesota; son, Austin Knuesel of Wisconsin Rapids; mother, Ellen Billmeyer of Wisconsin Rapids; and brother, James (Sharon) Billmeyer of Verona.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Billmeyer; sister, Barbara Barber; aunts, Marion and Marie (Robert) Wagner.

Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family with private arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshfield Clinic Cancer Research.

Jeannie’s family would like to send a sincere thank-you to the Oncology Departments of the Marshfield Clinic, and especially the Oncology staff in the Wisconsin Rapids office. Their compassion and professionalism are beyond appreciation.

“As our friend, wife and mother, you will never be forgotten. The sweetest of all, Jeannie Beannie.”
