Obituary of Cheryl Ann Woltman
Cheryl A. Woltman, age 60, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 2, 2018. She was escorted by her guardian angels, to spend eternity with her heavenly Father.
A Life Celebration service will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Paul Tullberg will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. A time for comforting, visiting, and sharing of special stories, for family and friends, will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Cheryl was born May 7, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI to John and Kathleen (Buelow) Berens. She was baptized into her Christian faith at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in West Allis, WI. Cheryl reconfirmed her faith through confirmation at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. On August 20, 1998, she was united in marriage to Tommy Woltman and they were blessed with 19 years of precious memories together.
Cheryl was a 1977 graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Practical Nursing earning a degree as a licensed practical nurse. Cheryl worked for Wood County Social Services for 15 years and most recently at the Wisconsin Rapids V.A. Outpatient Clinic as a health technician. Cheryl was a staunch supporter of our veterans and would do her best to make sure they were well taken care of at the clinic. She was active in various ministries at Good Shepherd/St. Paul’s. including Pioneers, Weekender Camp, vacation bible school, LWMS, as well as, many others. She found earthly pleasure in gardening, quilting, crafting, reading, a good cup of coffee with friends, finding unique beer pubs and wineries to spend time enjoying God’s wonderful Earthly creation. Above all, Cheryl cherished being a loving wife, doting mother, devoted daughter, loving sister, caring aunt, and faithful friend. She IS loved and will be deeply missed. Her family and friends find comfort in the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and is wrapped in the arms of her loving God.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy; sons: Zachary (Andrea) Bessette and Henry Woltman; siblings: Jean (Scot Dragan) Berens, James (Carly) Berens, and Paul (Todd Kester) Berens; aunts and uncles: Mary Retzer, Pete Berens, Tom Berens, and Tom (Mary) Buelow; brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry (Deborah) Woltman, Danny Woltman, Garry (Laurie) Woltman, and Jimmy (Karla) Woltman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two grandpups: Porter and Tucker. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be given to the UW Cancer Center of Wisconsin Rapids or The Heroes Café of Wisconsin Rapids, a non-profit community organization for veterans. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
