Obituary of Emily Anne Klopotek

Emily Anne Klopotek, 18, of Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at her residence.

Emily was born October 31, 1999 in Wisconsin Rapids to Joseph and Christine (Cervine) Klopotek.

She attended Grove Elementary School and was currently a senior at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids where she was active with the dance team, played violin, acted in plays, and participated on mock trial teams.   She had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, was a diligent student and a talented artist.  She worked hard to accomplish whatever it was she put her mind to.

Emily was a very outgoing and adventurous young woman who was passionate about many things.  She was an avid Bernie Sanders supporter and women’s rights advocate.  She was very caring and always placed others needs before her own.  Emily loved to be outdoors, especially at the beach or at Noah’s Ark Waterpark.  Her other favorite places to visit included Carolina Beach, Glacier National Park and Presque Isle Park.  Emily was very fond of animals, especially her best friend, her dog, Max.  She loved being with her family, hanging out with her sister, baking with her mom, and debating her dad.

Emily is loved and will be deeply missed by her parents, Joe and Chris Klopotek and her sister, Corinne Klopotek (Noah Wussow) all of Wisconsin Rapids; her maternal grandparents, Michael (Dorothy) Cervine and uncle Fr. Keith Cervine all of New Jersey; her paternal grandparents, Dave (Pat) Klopotek of Sobieski, WI and uncle Robert Klopotek of Tampa, FL; special friends, Kaitlyn Akey and Jillian Alekna; along with many other close friends.  She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents and her aunt Kathleen Klopotek.

Services for Emily will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Cheryl Davis will officiate.  Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at First English Lutheran Church.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chase, WI.  Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the South Wood County Humane Society or to a college scholarship fund which will be established in Emily’s memory.
