Obituary of James Henry Berghammer
James H. Berghammer, age 79, of Rudolph, WI, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
Jim was born October 20, 1937, in Athens, WI, to Henry and Mary (Thoma) Berghammer. He married the love of his life, RuthAnn Gunia, on November 24, 1955. They were blessed with three chidren: Christine, Suzann, and Randall. Jim owned and operated his own milk hauling company, in which he owned both bulk milk trucks and canned milk trucks. Jim and Ruth were also farmers, beginning in Spencer, WI and then later in Arpin, WI.
They lovingly raised their children and joyfully welcomed 8 grandchildren to the farm. The grandchildren were his pride and joy. He spent hours giving them tractor rides on his “mighty mouse” tractor! Grandpa always welcomed “help” from all of the grandchildren. Jim happily shared his Hershey chocolate bars with the grandchildren and cows.
Upon retiring, Jim and Ruth moved to Hayward, WI. Jim spent part of his “Golden Years” being a people greeter at the Wal Mart in Hayward. He fully retired in 2014.
Jim is survived by his wife, RuthAnn; his daughter, Suzann Petersen; his son, Randall (Michelle) Berghammer; his grandchildren: April (Andy) Pierson, Jeremy (Julie) Linzmaier, Candice (Chad) Herman, Adam (Jenna) Lubeck, Holly (Brandon Whitney) Rosplock, Aron (Amanda) Hodge, Heather Berghammer, and Jesse Berghammer; he is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christine Rennhack; his brothers: Roger Berghammer and Robert Berghammer; a sister, Betty Jakubowski; brothers-in-law: Raymond Jakubowski and Clarence Gunia.
