Obituary of Gladys L. Walker

Gladys L. Walker, age 85, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family. Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

Gladys was born on April 26, 1932 to George and Gertrude (Loomans) Ter Maat in Vesper, WI. She married Dale Walker on August 6, 1955 and was blessed with 61 years of marriage. Gladys loved making crafts and giving these items as gifts to family and friends.  She was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Gladys cherished her family and role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is loved and will be deeply missed.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Randy (Laura) Walker; grandchildren: Lindsay (Eric) Krueger and Jeffrey Walker; great-grandchildren: Olivia Krueger, Owen Krueger, and Natalie Krueger.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Ter Maat; and siblings: Charles Ter Maat and Mildred Kleinschmidt.
