Obituary of Kenneth J. Skiba
Kenneth J. “Skibs” Skiba, age 62, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Jerome Patric will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Fancher, WI. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:30 P.M. with a Rosary Service starting at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, June 19 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, and from 10:00 – 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Kenneth was born on July 28, 1954, in Stevens Point to Clements and Diane (Gibbs) Skiba. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. Kenneth was employed with Consolidated and later Stora Enso as a supervisor. He also was a manager for many years at Good Time Charlie’s. He coordinated many dart and pool tournaments and enjoyed camping and attending the Hodag Country Festival.
One of Kenneth’s loves was gardening and canning the bounties of his garden. Besides gardening he liked to follow the local sports teams, especially the Packers.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth (Vernon) Bradley and their children: Jesse and Jenna, and Christine Moss (Donald Janisch) and their child, Grace; step-children: Scott (Pam) Yetter and Jerrod (Erica) Fisher; brothers: Edwin (Pamela) Skiba and Richard (Sarah) Skiba; sisters: Harriet (Douglas) Anderson, Margaret (James) Hephner, and Janet (Dan) Dargel; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
