Obituary of Diane Lynn Byrnes

Diane Lynn (Grulkowski) Byrnes, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2016 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI while celebrating the holiday with her loving husband and family. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 28, 1959 the daughter of Benedict and Lois Grulkowski. She attended Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and St. Williams Parish. Diane treasured the time she had with her children and grandchildren. Time with family was Diane's joy and purpose. She especially enjoyed the many sporting events that her family participated in. Diane was an avid knitter who happily created beautiful Afghans, slippers, hats and many other items for family members. Those who received her loving handcrafted gifts will forever have a small piece of her to cherish. Diane has many friends that she met through her years of waiting on customers. Many people would stop to enjoy her friendly banter and humor. Her laughter was contagious. She will be missed. She is survived by her husband Steven D. Byrnes, her children and grandchildren: Michael (Lisa Dobzil) Timm, Brianna & Evan, Colorado Springs, CO, William (Fiance' Rachel Rasmussen) Timm, Trevor, Wittenberg, Sarah Timm, Destiny & Faith, Eland, Katie Timm, Nathan, Wittenberg, and Steven Byrnes, Patrick, Mosinee. Sisters: Susan (Daniel) Schmidt, Wittenberg, Joyce (Nick) Barber, Sr. Crystal Lake, IL, Brothers: Bruce (Carla) Grulkowski, Batavia, OH, Dale (Julie) Grulkowski, Wausau, and Brian (Cheryl) Grulkowski, Newsome, VA. Sister-in-law: Karla Grulkowski, Wittenberg and Ben's special friend, Dolores Kaberlein, Three Lakes. She also leaves behind many loving relatives, friends, and her fur-baby Willis. Diane’s family and friends are invited to Mass and a celebration of her life at Holy Family-St. Williams Parish 202 N Ellms St., Wittenberg, WI on Saturday December 31, 2016. Family and friends greet from Noon to 1pm: Mass will start at 1pm.
