Obituary of Donald Dunn Slauson
Donald D. Slauson, age 79, of Rudolph, WI passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston, WI.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 5, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Colburn Leona Cemetery in Adams. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Donald was born February 23, 1937 in Plainfield, WI to Robert and Mildred Slauson. He married Julie Ann McAllister on November 10, 1962 in Wisconsin Rapids. They recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Donald was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc., Wisconsin Rapids division, for 34 years and retired on November 30, 1986 as supercalendar shift supervisor. He and Julie bought, remodeled and sold many homes in the area.
Donald was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing (especially on Lake NEPCO), hunting and camping. He and his family enjoyed many long Sunday drives. Sassy, his beloved dog, enjoyed many rides on his scooter. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed listening to polka music. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; son, David (Lisa) Slauson, Ontario, Canada; daughters: Sara (Steve) Burgeson, Rudolph, and Susan (Jerry) Wolf, Marshfield; five grandsons; and one granddaughter. He is also survived by three sisters: June Swanson, Marcia Price and Lenora Kiedrowski; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents (Robert and Mildred Slauson), three brothers and four sisters.
