Obituary of Betty Lou Kurz
Betty Lou Kurz, age 93, of Rudolph, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Services are 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Betty was born on August 4, 1922 in the Town of Eau Pleine to Irvin and Edna (Roth) Zimmerman. She graduated from Rudolph High School in 1940 and was her class salutatorian. On February 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Henry Kurz in Rudolph. They were blessed with seven children. Henry preceded her in death on May 7, 1981.
Betty was a very active member of the Rudolph Moravian Church, a member of the Rudolph Senior Citizens and the Rudolph American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed many hours of playing cards and dominoes with friends and family.
Betty is survived by six children: Miriam (Bob) Lueck, Sue Babcock, Bill (Lisa) Kurz, Sandy (Steve) Ohr, Deb (Jim) Ashbeck and Ken (Deb) Kurz; 12 grandchildren: Ken (Robin) Lueck, Darin (Diane) Babcock, Becky (Rich Thomsen) Babcock, Olivia Ohr, Jerrad (Tiphanie Rood) Ohr, Tari (Randy) Jahns, Brian (Michelle Teske) Ashbeck, Amy (Josh) Hafermann, Jimmy (Michele David) Ashbeck, Scot (Abby) Kurz, Ryan (Ashley Lynn) Kurz, and Brittany (Jon McDonnell) Kurz; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters: Marge (Warren) Kutz and Delores Jensen; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, son James, and brother Wayne Zimmerman.
