Obituary of Marion Torkelson

Marion Margaret Torkelson, 93, 1351 Wisconsin River Drive, Port Edwards, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home. A private memorial service will be held in Fort Meyers, Florida at a later date. Marion was born in Anoka Township, Minnesota on July 19, 1918 to Fred and Ida (Leverance) Kopelke. She married Adolph Torkelson on November 4, 1937 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. He died on May 4, 1985. Marion was a fun loving lady with a calm and even natured temperament. She loved life and her family. Survivors include her children: Roland (Kathy) Torkelson; Richard (Betty) Torkelson and Joan (Gary) Knuth; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-Marlene Williams; son-in-law-Sidney Williams; six brothers and two sisters. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, especially Ashley, Crystal, Jessica and Katie, to Doctor Huebner and Ministry Home Care Hospice for all their care and concern. Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
