Obituary of Marion Swen

Marion J. Swen, 93, of 1331 Whitrock Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday morning, December 6, 2011 at Arborwood Lodge. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery. Marion was born October 20, 1918 in Plainfield, WI to Richard and Mary (Youngs) Bentley. She married Harry F. Swen on August 16, 1940 in Illinois. He preceded her in death in June of 1984. Marion was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. She loved her family and friends and spending time with them was her joy. Marion was blessed with talents in quilting, sewing, crocheting, and knitting and in creating pottery items. Marion is survived by two children: Jerry (Darleene) Swen of Wisconsin Rapids, and Janice (Dick) Chilewski of Coloma; four grandchildren: Rebecca Neinfeldt, of Wisconsin Rapids and her children: Tea` and Carson, Chad (Jeannine) Chilewski of Coloma, Nicole Swen of Florida, and Brian (Kylie) Swen of Wisconsin Rapids and their children: Evan and Carter; and three sisters: Iva Rupp of Sheboygan, Margery Schilling of Almond and LaNae Keough of Bancroft. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry, her daughter, Judith, two brothers, Ralph and Don, two sisters, Doris and Alice, grandson, Bradley Tafelski, and son-in-law, Wayne Tafelski. Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4-7 pm on Wednesday and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 until the time of services. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and caretakers at Arborwood Lodge for their special attention and exceptional loving care given to Marion.
