Obituary of Norma Yanta
Norma M. Yanta, 89, of 2521 10th Street So., Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 17 at St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Norma was born in Kellner on December 21, 1921 to Christian and Martha (Meyer) Brandt. She married Harry Yanta on September 5, 1945 in Kellner. He died on May 12, 1984.
At a young age, Norma waitressed and cooked for Wilpolts Restaurant, but for the remainder of her life she enjoyed being at home cooking and taking care of her family. She was a member of St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her 4 children: Gerald (Karen) Yanta of Wisconsin Rapids; Robert of Kellner; James of Glendale, Wisconsin; and Sandra (Randy) Dykstra of Radcliff, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers: Amos, Harvey, Harry, Wilbur, Rudy and Irvin; and 4 sisters: Helen, Clara, Arvilla and Ruth.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4 pm to 6 pm on Friday and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services.
