Obituary of Sharon Riedel

Sharon ?Bucky? Lynn Riedel, 73, of 1200 Huntington Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, died peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Ministry St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by her family. Sharon was born in Wisconsin Rapids on August 30, 1938 to Darwin and Ilah (Grilley) Hayes. She married Robert Riedel on March 29, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. He died on February 13, 1997. Sharon worked for the Red Owl Grocery Store right after graduating from Lincoln High School. She also was employed by Consolidated Papers, Inc. and American Potato until she decided to stay at home and raise her children. In later years, Sharon babysat for her grandchildren. She loved to draw and make regular trips to Bowlby?s Candy Store and The Red Mill in Waupaca. Sharon especially enjoyed taking Sunday drives and watching the Badgers and the Packers as she was an avid fan of both teams. Sharon is survived by 3 children: Jan (Charles) Miller, and their children, Chloe and Charles III of Wisconsin Rapids; Tammy (John) Huilman, Wisconsin Rapids; Michael Riedel and his children, Olivia and Alaina of Wisconsin Rapids; 2 sisters: Peggy (Phil) Paulino, Illinois; and Mary (John) Decker of Illinois; and a sister-in-law, Sharon ?Auntie? Riedel of Wisconsin Rapids; and special nieces and nephews and one special great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Mary Ellen. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until the time of services on Tuesday.
