Obituary of Ervin Henke

Ervin J. Henke, 88, formerly of 5582 Knuth Road, Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at Harmony Living Center. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at Saint John?s Lutheran Church in Sigel. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Ervin was born in Town of Sigel on April 2, 1923 to the late William and Mable (Polansky) Henke. He married Mildred (Goldberg) on May 31, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Mildred preceded him in death on May 21, 2007. Ervin graduated from St. John?s Grade School and began his life time career as a farmer. He retired in 1988. He was chairman for the Town of Sigel for 14 years and held various offices in St. John?s Lutheran Church which he was a member of. Ervin is survived by son John, Wisconsin Rapids; daughters: Susan (Robert) Lipke, Wisconsin Rapids; Ruth Ann (Michael) Collis, Eau Claire; grandchildren: Thomas (Kristine) Lipke, Woodbury, MN; Timothy (Amy) Lipke, Plover; Peter, Eau Claire, Theresa, Eau Claire and Sarah Collis-Willott, Perth, Australia; great-grandchildren, Erica and Mckenna Lipke and KeelyAnn and Samuel Lipke; sister-in-law, Emma Henke, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar and Donald, and sister, Della Goldberg. Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2011, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
