Obituary of Maurine Lowe

Maurine M. Lowe, 84, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on January 2, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marsfhield. Maurine was born on September 14, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids to Edward and Viola (Finup) Knuth. Maurine graduated from St. Paul?s Lutheran School and Lincoln High School in 1945. She also completed the Dale Carnegie Course. She married Ralph ?Pat? L. Lowe on November 30th, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was employed by Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids and various retail stores in central Wisconsin. In 1977, Maurine and Pat moved to Madison where she managed an apartment complex. Maurine was a talented seamstress and continued to sew and crochet until her passing. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 2534. Maurine was a very active member of Faith Reformed Church and was involved in a variety of committees and gatherings. She is survived by her two sons, William (Barbara) and Gerald (Sandra), both of Wisconsin Rapids, four granddaughters: Danielle Smith (Jon Wenzel), Joan (Aaron) Carroll, Michelle (Justin) Bodette, Anne (Jake) Ringer, and two grandsons, William Lowe Jr. (Andy Busch) and Mitchell (Nicole) Lowe. Maurine has six great-grandsons: Christian Smith, Jack Wenzel, Bennet Smith, Gunner Ringer, Everett Carroll, and Laike Bodette, and four great-granddaughters: Rhiannon Carroll, Audrey Ringer, Nolita Carroll, and Maya Bodette. She was predeceased by her husband, one son, her parents, brother and sister. Maurine loved socializing, playing cards, and was a fantastic cook. She was a role model, a mentor, and a confidant to many. She was a phenomenal woman and will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her. Her family would like to thank the staff of Pine Ridge Assisted Living for all their friendships, time and care they offered Maurine in the last year. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Taylor Funeral Home on Friday, January 6th, from 3-7pm and again from 10-11am on Saturday, January 7th at Faith Reformed Church. The memorial service will be held at Faith Reformed Church on Saturday at 11am with a luncheon to follow.
