Obituary of Lois Cournoyer
Lois Jane ?Lolo? Cournoyer, 81, Wisconsin Rapids, died January 13, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
A private memorial service was held and burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield at a later date.
Lolo was born December 21, 1930 in Marshfield to the late Francis and Alma (Lucken) Tuttle. She is a graduate of Marshfield High School. Lolo married Gerald A. ?Jerry? Cournoyer on June 14, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. The couple was members of the Jaycees, the Elks, and the Rice Lake Curling Club. Lolo worked as an interior decorator while she lived in Rice Lake and hand colored black and white photographs and raised poodle puppies as a home business while living in Wisconsin Rapids. Lolo and Jerry celebrated 37 years together prior to his death on March 6, 1988.
Lolo had a great love for dogs and treated them as extended members of her family. She dearly loved her grandchildren and delighted in spending time with them. In her free time, Lolo was an avid bridge player, loved to travel and attended Super Bowl XXXI in New Orleans, LA and Super Bowl XXXII in San Diego, CA.
Survivors include her children, Debbie K. (Todd) Mitchell of Mesa, AZ, Diane Rae (Joe) Jagodzinski of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Sande Cournoyer of Denver, CO, and Todd Ray (Darcy) Cournoyer of Grand Rapids, MN; grandchildren, K.C. Morgan, Shane (Shirell) Morgan, Devon (Kevin) Carlson, Darcie Ewert, Haylee and Tyrel Cournoyer; great-grandchildren, Kobe, Lauren, Addison and Paisley; special friend, Bill Allen; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Cournoyer and grandchildren, Dana Ewert and Taylor Cournoyer.
Memorials may be designated to the South Wood County Humane Society (3621 64th Street North, PO Box 903, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495-0903).
