Obituary of Frederick Goldberg
Frederick ?Fred? William Goldberg, 65, died Monday, February, 13, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18 at Saint John?s Lutheran Church, Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will be officiating. Burial will be in Saint John?s Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
Fred was born May 23, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late John and Della (Henke) Goldberg. He married Sharon Jean Bohl on April 17, 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were both active members of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Kellner for many years.
Fred was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was employed at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the 1970?s, then operated his own businesses in taxidermy and firearms sales, and later worked for the Town of Grant and at Point Guns and Loan until he retired.
In his earlier years Fred enjoyed fishing with his family at McPartlin?s Resort in Land O? Lakes. He enjoyed hunting, shooting and talking about the outdoors with his friends Terry Kramer, Bob Rose, Jere Kirst and Dr. Pat O?Connor.
Survivors include his wife Sharon, Wisconsin Rapids; son Nathan (Traci) of Urbandale, IA; brothers Marvin (Dorothy) of Vesper, Richard (Jean) of Kellner and Paul (Charlotte) of Arpin along with many nephews and nieces.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, February 17, and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
