Obituary of Ruth Sparks

Ruth L. Sparks, 72, 2621 10th Street So., Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Riverview Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24th at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa at a later date. Ruth was born in Wisconsin Rapids on April 12, 1939 to Arthur and Ruth (Vaughn) Sparks. She graduated from Alexander High School in Nekoosa in 1958. Ruth worked as a nanny for a local family for 15 years. She also was employed by the Hotel Mead for twenty years until her retirement in 1978. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Ruth loved to knit afghans and enjoyed giving them to family and friends. Ruth is survived by her brother, Jim (Bonnie) Sparks of DeMotte, Indiana; sister, Judy (Bill) Negus of Joliet, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Sparks and her parents. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of services. Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
