Obituary of Bernard Tibbetts
Bernard Weldon Tibbetts, 81, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday evening, March 9, 2012, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Victory Christian Outreach Center, 3122 State Highway 13 North, Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Dave Mickelson will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Bernard was born July 1, 1930 in Plainfield to Fred and Rose (Bender) Tibbetts. He married Ann Murray on May 21, 1952 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids and together they welcomed nine children.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Bernard was a man of strong faith and was a very active member of Victory Christian Outreach Center. He liked to garden and enjoyed cooking.
Bernard is survived by Ann Tibbetts of Wisconsin Rapids; seven children: David (Debbie) Tibbetts of Vesper, Pat (Tom) Osowski of Nekoosa, Sandy (Ken) Porter of Wisconsin Rapids, Steve (Dawn) Tibbetts of Wisconsin Rapids, Ken (Rosanne) Tibbetts of Phoenix, AZ, Don (Nancy) Tibbetts of Madison, and Lisa (Steve Radtke) Schaak of Rudolph; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters (Judy and Diane), five brothers (Fred, Robert, Clarence, John, and Herb), and two sisters (Blanche and Jean).
Friends may call at Victory Christian Outreach Center from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday.
