Obituary of Ernest Neinfeldt
Ernest Neinfeldt, Jr., 90, of 3440 Townline Road, Town of Saratoga, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 24th at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by VFW Post 2534.
Ernest was born December 24, 1921 in Wisconsin Rapids to Ernest Sr. and Minnie (Martinson) Neinfeldt. He married Ruth Steinke in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1954. He married Mary Ann ?Pat? Ratelle on July 23, 1955 in Kellner. She preceded him in death on August 9, 2003.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a part of the invasion at Normandy and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Ernest worked as a crane operator for Consolidated Papers Inc. for 45 years, retiring in 1985.
Ernest was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. In his younger years, he played baseball for the Wood County League and also played a lot of softball. Ernest loved the outdoors; gardening, hunting, and fishing, and especially trout fishing.
He is survived by one son, David (Charlene) Neinfeldt of Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Charlene (Larry) Robinson of Nekoosa; six grandchildren: Ruth (Edward) Russell, Wendy (Jamie) Bruhn, Carol (Ryan) Pawlicki, Alisha Neinfeldt, Marcus Neinfeldt, and Theodore Neinfeldt; six great-grandchildren: Mikala and Larissa Russell, Ian and Dylan Bruhn, and Bryanne and Kendall Pawlicki; one sister, Margaret Grode; one brother, Arthur (Laura) Neinfeldt; and sister-in-law, Diantha Neinfeldt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth , his wife, Mary Ann ?Pat?, two daughters: Nancy and Rhonda Neinfeldt; five brothers: Clarence, Charley, George, Raymond, and Donald; and three sisters: Dorothy, Lucille, and Bernice.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
