Obituary of Leona Hetzel
Leona A. Hetzel, 94, Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 31st at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be in St. John?s Lutheran Cemetery in Rudolph.
Leona was born in Burlington, Wisconsin on December 17, 1917 to Henry and Augusta (Redlin) Rehberg. She married John Hetzel on June 24, 1944 in Wisconsin Rapids. He died August 26, 1984.
Leona was a genuine hard working farm girl. She grew up on the family farm and continued her passion for farming with her husband throughout their lives together. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with her children and other family members. Her great-grandson, Brian was the apple of her eye.
Leona is survived by her children: Donald (Ruth Ann) Hetzel; Ronald (Bonnie) Hetzel; Marlene Henke; Gerald (Wendy) Hetzel; grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews; and sister, Vera Herman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Theodore and Edward; sisters: Cora, Lillie and Marietta; son-in-law, Danny Henke; and granddaughter, Karen Hetzel.
Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10:00 am on Saturday until the time of services.
