Obituary of Robert Arndt

Robert Lee Arndt, 69, Town of Grand Rapids, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 surrounded by his family at Riverview Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids. Bob was born January 3, 1943 in Appleton to the late Lee and Elizabeth (Kuse) Arndt. He graduated from Appleton West High School and attended UW LaCrosse. On July 18, 1964, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Ann Seidl, in Appleton. They were blessed with the births of their children; Melissa and Michael. Bob retired from Consolidated Paper in 1998 having worked as a storeroom supervisor. More recently, he worked as a self employed salesman for Lawson Products. A gregarious and outgoing man by nature, Bob would easily walk into a room full of strangers and in little time have a room full of lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, watching Brewers baseball and working away his troubles in the yard on his trusty John Deere. But for Bob, it was his family that meant everything to him, and the world revolved around his grandsons. Bob and Ann traveled far and wide to be able to spend time with their family, making new friends wherever they went. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Ann; children, Melissa (Bobby) Mabry of Arlington, TN and Michael (Amy) Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Alec Mabry of Arlington, TN, Lucas and Samuel Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids; and extended family and friends. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 26th, with a memorial service and celebration of Bob?s life following the visitation at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Dan DeRoche will officiate. Bob?s family would like to thank the hundreds, if not thousands of people that were brightened by Bob?s character and his larger than life personality, for your prayers and support. Also, a special thanks to the doctors and staff from the UW Cancer Center Riverview for your genuine care and concern for Bob and our entire family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in the name of Robert L. ?Bob? Arndt to: UW Cancer Center Riverview, 410 Dewey Street, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.
