Obituary of Bryan Dorshorst
Bryan Leonard Dorshorst, 53, Rudolph, died Friday, April 27, 2012 surrounded by his family at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Services will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Dan DeRoche will officiate. Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 5:00 PM until the time of services on Wednesday.
Bryan was born on November 24, 1958 in Wisconsin Rapids to Duane and Theresa (Schivoni) Dorshorst. He is a graduate of Lincoln High School. Bryan married Cindi Raikowski on June 20, 1981 at St. Bartholomew?s Catholic Church in Steven?s Point. They were blessed with the birth of their only daughter, Becky.
Bryan worked as a machinist for SKS Machine for many years.
Bryan had a rough exterior, but for those who knew him, he had a good sense of humor and a good heart. He loved his grandchildren and took every opportunity to spend time with them. Bryan enjoyed spending time with nature, hunting and fishing, and traveling across the country with Cindi.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Cindi; daughter, Becky (Mike) Linzmeier; grandchildren, Trevor, Rachel and Alyson; parents, Duane and Theresa Dorshorst; sisters, Tammy (Jeff Dassow) Baumann and Cheryl (Roche) Rossier; maternal grandmother, Millie Johnson; father and mother-in-law, David and Louise Raikowski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Cheri) Raikowski, Jerry (Bonnie) Raikowski, Dave (Maggie) Raikowski, Bill (Shelia) Raikowski, Mary (Scott) Wanta, Debbie (Ken) Laczkowski, Randy (Lisa) Raikowski, Dawn (Mike) Jenner, Jack (Melinda) Raikowski, Peggy (Roland) McMahon, Bob (Lori) Raikowski and Kevin (Caritia) Raikowski; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leonard Schivoni; maternal step-grandfather, Jerry Johnson and paternal grandparents, Bill and Theresa Dorshorst.
