Obituary of Rueben Baltus
Rueben G. Baltus, age 80, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in the Town of Sigel. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rueben was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on May 5, 1932 to Elmer and Emma Bloomer Baltus. He married Ruth Quinnell on May 22, 1954 in the Town of Sigel. She passed away on March 14, 2009.
Rueben resided in the Town of Sigel for most of his life. He worked for Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company for 40 years until his retirement in 1991. He spent his retirement years residing for 6 months in Wisconsin Rapids and 6 months in South Texas. Rueben was well known in the area for his carpentry skills, building and remodeling many homes.
He loved to travel and enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada.
Rueben is survived by 2 daughters: Sue Radtke (Hal Postel) of Amherst and Sally (Randy) Smith of Nekoosa; 1 son: Ron (Suzanne) Baltus of Oconomowoc; 4 grandchildren: Todd (Amy) Radtke, Tina Morrow, Renee (Justin) Green and Shelly (fiancé Ben Eberlein) Smith; 5 great grandchildren: Alexis, McKenna, Dylon, Gage and Kaelyn; 1 brother, Arnold and 2 sisters: Evelyn (Bob) Wojcik and Dorothy Halbrader. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth of 54 years and brothers, Sylvester, Floyd, Kenneth, Jim and Lyle.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. John?s Lutheran Church in the Town of Sigel.
