Obituary of Daniel Charles Krueger
Daniel August Charles Krueger, 92, formerly of 160 Buffalo Street, Biron, Wisconsin, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Arborwood Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 23rd at Kellner Moravian Church. Rev. Christine Stack will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with Military rites provided by the American Legion Post 9. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church.
Daniel was born in Plover, Wisconsin on October 3, 1919 to Ernest and Elsie (Voight) Krueger. He married Betty J. (Bade) on October 26, 1940 at the Moravian Church in Rudolph. She died on April 24, 2007.
Daniel was the steam power plant control operator for Consolidated Papers, Inc. at the Biron mill. He also owned Krueger?s Lock and Jack Service for 30 years.
Daniel was a faithful member of the Kellner Moravian Church, serving as an Elder and Trustee. He also was the Governor and Secretary for the Wisconsin Rapids Moose Lodge, earning his Pilgrim Decree. Daniel was the union steward for IBEW Electrical Union and a charter member of the Kellner Knights Snowmobile Club.
He served his country in the Army during World War II as a sheet metal worker and marksman with the 3112th OBAVM CO. in Northern France.
Dan built his home at 160 Buffalo Street in 1956 and also built the family cottage on Soo Lake in Phillips, where many happy family memories were made. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and golfed on the Consolidated Men?s League. He also enjoyed his Ford model car collection. Dan and Betty were avid Square dancers and spent time bowling on a senior bowling team.
Dan is survived by his 2 daughters: Susan (Marinus) Boselie of Kathleen, Georgia; Leanne (Jeff) Lundquist of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren: Gina Boselie, Warner Robins, Georgia; Tonya Veal, Watkinsville, Georgia; Michael (Amy) Boselie, Bonaire, Georgia; Tina (Scott) Rajski, Stevens Point, Wisconsin; Tammy (Chris) Stanislawski, Rosholt, Wisconsin; Tony (Christina) Sankey, London, Kentucky; Jamie Little, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; Jason and Jeremy Lundquist, Las Vegas, Nevada; Michele (Joe) Green, New London, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren: Brandi Elliot, Brooke and Madison Randall, Maxwell and Clark Veal, Autumn and Summer Boselie, Mark , Daphne and Kyle Sebree, Jordan and Tanner Little, Sadie Racine, Ashyln Green, Amanda and Wyatt Stanislawski and Kaleb Lawson; 2 great-great grandchildren: Jayson and Kacen Elliott; God-daughter, Ann Walkush. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Dale; son-in-law, Michael Sankey; sisters: Ellen Young, Bertha Rucinski and Alice Benner; brother, Kenneth Krueger; sister-in-law, Beverly Krueger; brothers-in-law, Earl Young, Donald Rucinski and John Benner.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Arborwood Lodge and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care for Daniel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the Kellner Moravian Church.
