Obituary of Darlene Tyjeski
Darlene Mae Tyjeski, 82, of Wisconsin Rapids, died early Monday morning, June 11, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Patrick Green will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Darlene was born in Wisconsin Rapids on April 8, 1930 to Seth and Viola (Harmacek) Ratelle. She married Edward Tyjeski on May 8, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids. He died on January 4, 2009.
Darlene worked for Consolidated Papers, Inc. until she and Edward married. When she returned to the work force, she was employed by Fey Publishing, Ore-Ida and then NEPCO, which later became Georgia Pacific. Darlene retired from Georgia Pacific in 1990.
Darlene was a crafty person. She created wonderful stained glass work, beautiful flower gardens and knitted items. She also enjoyed scrap booking and was an avid reader. She particularly enjoyed being with her family in the summer at the cottage in Chetek, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her husband.
Darlene is survived by her two daughters: Cynthia Tyjeski of Wisconsin Rapids and Jody Stormoen of Amherst; one son: Dr. Jerome (Joanne) Tyjeski of Beaver Dam; 7 grandchildren: William (Jennifer), Seth (Becky) and Amy Stormoen, Joshua, Jennifer, Jordan and Jonah Tyjeski; 6 great-grandchildren: Olivia, Tori, Clayton, Miah, Reece and Tera Stormoen; and one sister Sandra (Elroy) Reinicke of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Mary Ann ?Pat? Neinfeldt and brother-in-law, Ernest Neinfeldt.
Visitation will be at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 13th and from 10:00 am until the time of services on Thursday at church.
