Obituary of Phyllis Ennett
Phyllis Emiline (nee Strohman) Ennett, 81, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 26 at Calvary Baptist Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be on Monday, June 25 6:00-9:00 PM at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Reverend Jack Austin will officiate. Entombment will take place in the Forest Hill Mausoleum.
Phyllis was born February 26, 1931 in Marshfield to the late George and Linda (Ewert) Strohman. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School. Phyllis married the love of her life, Norman Ennett, on December 5, 1959 in Marshfield. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to Wisconsin Rapids and became members of Calvary Baptist Church, where they would remain for the rest of their lives. Sadly, Norman died June 23, 1998.
Phyllis was a woman who loved her Lord, family and children. She had a special gift for caring for children and delighted in being called ?Grandma? by all the children in the nursery at Calvary Baptist Church. Norman and Phyllis also help with the Awana program at church. In her free time, she earned the title of Skip Bo queen, enjoyed camping and campfires, singing and spent countless hours quilting. Phyllis loved to spend time gazing out her window, watching her birds at the bird feeders.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Lamont (Arlene) Ennett of Cold Water, MI and Todd (Patty) Ennett of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Steven Ennett, Emily (Jacob) Orth and Michael Ennett; step-granddaughter, Amber Long; 3 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert.
