Obituary of Gloria Engel
Gloria M. (Narel) Engel, 75, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday evening, June 22, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield due to complications of surgery.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26th at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Gloria was born June 3, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Harold and Virginia (Spohn) Koch.
Over the years she worked for Judge?s Cleaners, Conley?s in Kellner, and the Sunrise Bar.
Gloria was a family person who loved being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and gardening. She also liked to bake and throw horseshoes. Gloria was an active member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children: Linda (Vince) Olson, Susie (Don ?Bongo?) Conley, Tom (Terri Akerboom) Narel, and Tim (Jennifer) Narel; grandchildren: Dori (Joel) Brownie, Brian Olson, Dusty Hanneman, Bobbi Sue Hanneman, Mason, Marah, Caroline, and Theo Narel, Jack, Emily, and Jason Narel, and Kyle, Katie, and Cody Akerboom; great-grandchildren: Zack and Nate Brownie, McKenzie Olson, and Ariana Hanneman; and her best friend, her dog, Teddy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Dwight Hodge, Tom Narel, and Larry Engel; and brothers, Dean Spohn and Gerald Koch.
