Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to the time of services on Monday at the church. Military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 2534. He served in the US Army from 1962-65 before transferring to the US Army Reserves. He married Lucille Ingle in Madison in the 1970?s. Doug was a good man who took life in stride. Despite physical limitations, he was always happy, friendly and loved to laugh. For many years he would ride his scooter to work every day at ODC where he worked as a mail clerk processing mail. In his free time, Doug enjoyed movies, fishing and watching all kinds of sports, especially cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Douglas will be missed terribly by his family and friends. We take comfort knowing that after many years of suffering he is now at peace and can run through the fields of the Lord. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lucille; mother, Marjorie Erdman; siblings, Gary (Jan Heintz) of Phillips, Judy (Miguel) Velazquez and Loree Rezaie both of Wisconsin Rapids; extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Leo Heintz; brothers, Steve and Alan Heintz and sister, Virginia Heintz.
