Obituary of Frances Smallbrook
Frances Leona (White) Smallbrook, 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7th at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Frances was born January 19, 1924 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Sever and Bertha (King) White. She married George ?Jack? Smallbrook Jr. on September 25, 1965 at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He died on March 21, 2010.
She was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. in the finishing room from 1955 until shortly after her marriage.
Frances was an active and faithful member of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. She enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables and strawberries. Frances was often found attending to her apple and pear trees and canning the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and dancing with her sisters in her spare time.
Frances is survived by two sons: Gene (Mary) Gormanson of Wisconsin Rapids and Keith (Nancy) Gormanson of Rudolph; four grandchildren; Eric (Amy) Gormanson of Monroe, Wisconsin, Heidi (Nick) Wiberg of Lindstrom, Minnesota, Polly McCrossen of Rudolph, and Montana (Jennifer) Gormanson of Rudolph; six great-grandchildren: Makaylah, Dylan, Tanner, Morgan, Wyatt, and Abigail; four sisters: Carolyn Webster, Viola Hobbick, and Bessie Crotteau all of Wisconsin Rapids, and Lottie Finder of Menomonie; and one brother: Herb (Dorey) White of Menomonie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George ?Jack?, five brothers (Alonzo, John, Ed, Bill and Kenneth), and two sisters (Della and Dorothy).
Memorials may be designated to St. Luke?s Lutheran Church, 2011 10th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids.
