Obituary of Kathryn Peters
Kathryn Lynn Peters, 58, of Wisconsin Rapids, died peacefully, Monday, September 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 14th at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the time of services on Friday at the church.
Kathy was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 26, 1954 to Earl and Marjorie (Weigel) Morrison. She married Charles Peters on May 23, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards.
Kathy was most recently employed by the Adams-Friendship Times-Reporter and Shopper?s Weekly Rambler as a Print Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer. She was previously employed by the Wisconsin Rapids Buyer?s Guide as a Graphic Designer for 32 years.
She was very involved with the Heart of Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance as an Ambassador. In 2008 she deservedly received the Community Spirit Award. Kathy also gave of her time and many talents by being the Event Organizer for the Cranberry Blossom Fest Children?s Carnival, Nekoosa Pumpkin Fest Children?s Carnival, and the Port Edwards Fun Fest Children?s Carnival. A few of her other interests included flower gardening, community contribution, volunteering, and graphic design. Kathy was very passionate about her Friday night pizzas with the girls (and Chuck), travels to Walt Disney World and the love for Mickey Mouse. She cherished her family and spending time and making memories with them, especially her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Chuck; mother, Marjorie Morrison; children: Melissa (Rod) Sarver of Chippewa Falls, WI; Amanda (Todd) Koback of Wausau, WI; grandchildren: Cody, Kolten, and Emma Sarver and Bennett Koback; sister, Linda (David) Anderson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; many dear family members and friends; and her loving companion, her dog ?Wiggles?. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Morrison and sister, Robin Stelzner.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ron Kirschling and the staff of UW Cancer Center at Riverview Medical Center and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their exceptional care for Kathy.
Memorials may be designated, in Kathy?s memory, to the Patient Care Fund c/o UW Cancer Center Riverview. This fund has been established to help cancer patients with their medical costs and was of great help to Kathy and Chuck during their time of need.
