Obituary of Marian Klingforth
Marian I. Klingforth, 87, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday morning, September 16, 2012, at The Renaissance in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20th at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church. Rev. Thomas Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.
Marian was born November 6, 1924 in Wisconsin Rapids to August and Emma (Krumrie) Glebke. In 1938 she was confirmed from Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran Grade School. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. Marian then furthered her education in 1943 at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
On July 17, 1948, Marian was united in marriage to Edgar ?Red? Klingforth in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple was blessed with seven children. Edgar died on June 23, 1978.
Marian was a secretary at Dana Machine for over 20 years before retiring in 1991. Marian was a charter member of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church and was very active in the ministry of the church. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the church choir since 1950, and held many offices in the Women?s Ministry, LWML. She loved having family together, whether it was going to church, preparing and sharing a meal, or watching a Packer game. Marian liked to bake and was known for her delicious banana bread and pfeffernusse cookies. She had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, swimming, and feeding the birds, especially the cardinals.
Marian is survived by one daughter, Sue (Ron) Teclaw of Rhinelander; six sons, John (Cheryl) Klingforth of Wisconsin Rapids, Don (Judith) Klingforth of Cambridge, Wisconsin, Jerry (Sandra) Klingforth of Wisconsin Rapids, James (Brenda) Klingforth of Ironwood, Michigan, David (Pam) Klingforth of Wisconsin Rapids, and Robert (Tammy) Klingforth of Wisconsin Rapids; eighteen grandchildren: Jacob (Shannon) Klingforth, Andrew Klingforth, Heidi (Dan) Dahle, Matthew Klingforth, Steve Trimborn, Chad (Christine) Olson, Jeremiah Klingforth, Robert (Deni) Klingforth, Shawn (Natalie) Klingforth, Michael Ryder, Doug (Amy) Ryder, Joseph Ryder, Kellie (Chad) Jensen, Travis Klingforth, Erica (Scott) Teclaw Golueke, Steve Teclaw, Jesse Klingforth, and Marissa Klingforth; twelve great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one brother, Donald (Doloris) Glebke of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edgar ?Red?, and brother, Robert Glebke.
Memorials may be designated to St. Luke?s Lutheran Church.
