Obituary of Bette Gaulke
Bette Ellen Gaulke, age 91, formerly of 921 10th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, passed into eternal life on Friday, September 21st, at Wellington Place of Whiting under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 25 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, September 24, at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
Bette was born in Wisconsin Rapids on March 26, 1921 to the late Albert and Eva (Barney) Behrend. Bette graduated from Lincoln High School and on July 12, 1941 married the love of her life, Neil Gaulke. The couple was overjoyed with the births of their children, Linda and Bill. After 45 wonderful years together, Neil passed away on January 27, 1987.
Bette loved to study house plans and in 1954 she designed the house that she and her family would enjoy for 57 years. Bette devoted her life to her family. She loved to keep a beautiful home, sew clothes, and embroider.
Bette was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church her entire life serving with the Evening Guild for many years.
Bette is survived by her daughter, Linda (Carl) Luebstorf of Stevens Point; son, Bill (Mary) Gaulke of New Prague, Minnesota; and her three cherished grandsons Matthew Gaulke, Wyatt Gaulke and David Gaulke all of New Prague, Minnesota. She was predeceased by her brother, William Behrend.
