Obituary of Carol A. Hagen

Carol A. Hagen, age 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Deacon Jim Johnston will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Carol was born January 26, 1944 in Marshfield, WI to Charles and Marian (Hinek) Simonis and grew up in Milladore, WI. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1962. Carol furthered her education and obtained a degree in cosmetology from Eau Claire. Carol worked for Wood County Head Start for 21 years. She was an avid collector of Hummels. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and the Tuesday night dinner group with her friends. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and faithfully attended the Saturday night service. In her earlier years Carol liked spending time with her family at Red Cedar Lake near Birchwood, WI. Carol is survived by her daughter, Ronelle (Duane) Glaza of Fredrick, CO and three grandchildren: Brittany Glaza (fiancé Erica Stewart) of Fall River, MA, Alissa Glaza of Louisville, CO, and Tanner Glaza of Minneapolis, MN. She is further survived by two very special friends who were with her through the end: Judy Marshall and Dolly Wipfli. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Brian, and special friend, Everett Buchholz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or the South Wood County Humane Society.
