Obituary of Doretta Curtis
Doretta C. Curtis, 83, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 15th at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Deacon James Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Arpin Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services on Monday at the church.
Doretta was born in Wisconsin Rapids on May 13, 1929 to William and Edna (Spielman) Wilke. She married Francis M. Curtis October 1, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids. He died on September 16, 2006.
Doretta enjoyed taking care of her home and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church and was involved in several Bible studies. Doretta was an avid reader. In her spare time she enjoyed putting puzzles together and studying geneology.
Doretta is survived by her two children: Carole (Keith) Liebenstein of Wisconsin Rapids; Lyle Curtis (Gina Meyer) of Fremont, WI; five grandchildren: Kelly (Chad) Krug and Tracy (Dan) Bennett of Wisconsin Rapids, Jessica Lopez, Kevin Curtis and Landon Curtis, all of New Mexico; great-grandchildren: Daniel Bennett Jr., Damien Bennett, Temperance Bennett, Trinity Bennett, Gavin Lopez, Zhoee Lopez and Kayden Lopez; sister: Marjorie Ewert of Wisconsin Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fran, brothers, William Wilke Jr. and Donald Wilke, infant brother, Robert Wilke, and infant great-granddaughter, Daphne Bennett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Our House Assisted Living for the last 3 ½ years of loving care, and to Aspire Hospice for their compassionate care.
Memorials may be designated to St. Luke?s Lutheran Church.
