Obituary of Frances Stransky
Frances Marion Stransky, 78, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Herman- Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Grand Rapids.
Frances was born in Rudolph on July 18, 1934 to the late Ira and Amanda (Scott) Thompson. She grew up on the family farm in Rudolph and graduated from Rudolph High School in 1953. On September 18, 1959, Frances married Maurice Stransky at the Moravian Church in Rudolph and the couple was later blessed with two daughters, Marlene and Alice. Frances and Maurice celebrated 22 wonderful years together prior to his death on May 26, 1982. After Maurice?s death, Frances spent some time working at Wilberns and later at the Mead Inn.
Frances was a loving mother and always put her children first. She enjoyed helping others in many ways such as providing rides for others to run errands. Frances would drop everything she was doing if it meant helping someone in need. She volunteered to deliver meals to people?s homes and also as a school aide. Frances was a caring person and very proud of her grandchildren, who was her life. Frances was overjoyed with the births of her 4 grandchildren and was elated with the opportunity to help raise them. She enjoyed attending their numerous school and sporting functions.
Frances is survived by her loving daughters, Marlene Narel of Wisconsin Rapids and Alice (Gene) Elvers of Junction City; grandchildren, Dylan and Falen Narel, Dakota and Rylie Elvers; and extended family and friends. Her path to God was led by her parents, Ira and Amanda; brother, James Thompson; sisters, Alice (Vern) Crothers, Jessie (Virgil) Andres and infant sister, Caroline; son-in-law, Steve Narel and grandson, Damian Narel.
