Obituary of Ruth Burnett
Ruth M. Burnett, 84, of Vesper, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Bethel Center in Arpin.
Services will be at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 17th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Hansen. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the time of services on Wednesday at the church.
Ruth was born in Wisconsin Rapids on February 24, 1928 to Adolph and Florence (Russ) Gachnang. She married Otis Burnett on August 18, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2005.
Ruth was a traditional farm girl who loved taking care of her home and family. Her favorite times were when the family was together sharing meals and companionship. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing cards, and watching the Brewers and the Soaps on television while drinking cappuccino. Other times you could find Ruth sitting on the bleachers cheering her grandchildren on during their baseball and softball games.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters: Karen (Michael) Guck; Susan (Kevin) Scheunemann; and Donna (Todd) Eckes, all of Vesper; eight grandchildren: Dan (Shellie) Guck and Sherri Guck, both of Wis. Rapids, Mark (Bobbi) Scheunemann, of Vesper, Jodi (Canaan) Heil, of Weston, Jared (special friend Alicia Schnorr) Scheunemann, Samantha (special friend Dave Zimmerman) Eckes, Jackie (special friend Jason Zellner) Eckes and Krystin Eckes, all of Vesper; three great-grandchildren: Brandon and Carson Guck, both of Wis. Rapids and Jackson Heil of Weston; and several nieces and nephews; two special friends of Ruth?s, Rusty and Ashley at Dialysis and her new friend, Beth at the Bethel Center. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otis, brother, Ken Gachnang and sister, Edna Lee.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Ministry St. Joseph?s Hospital, the Dialysis Center in Wisconsin Rapids and to the Bethel Center for their exceptional care and concern for Ruth.
